Strange to think, but even at this time last year, a trip to a creative conference, especially abroad, seemed to many of us a pipe dream. But now that the lockdown is over and things are pretty much back to normal, we can indeed, for the first time since 2019, confidently look forward to a year full of creative activity.
Not only that, but this year’s calendar will be more exciting than ever as event organizers have had plenty of time to recover and catch up. But where to start? To help you out, we’ve compiled a list of the best live events in 2023.
From Australia to the US and across Europe, there is something for everyone. While you’re at it, why not combine creative activity with a break? For example, you can join the OFFF creative network by visiting the sights of Barcelona. Or perhaps follow the design inspiration of the AIGA Design Conference by exploring New York City’s cultural and historical landmarks.
Please also note that we will update this list as new events are announced. For example, we still don’t know when Adobe Max, Belfast Design Week or Manchester Animation Festival will take place (although we are sure they will). So bookmark this page and check back often!
Creative Leadership Retreat 2020 was one of the last events in the advertising industry before the world went into lockdown. Now, the return of the event to the Monte Leon Hotel in New Orleans means the return of the food, creative culture and fashion of the Crescent City in the lead-up to Mardi Gras season.
After a two year absence, the Pune Design Festival is back to celebrate all things design. The theme is NXT25: exploring design trends in India and the world for the next 25 years.

The OFFF Older Creative Conference is back with exciting insider lectures, artist workshops, social get-togethers and more. Speakers currently announced are Gemma O’Brien, COLLINS, Eva Kremers, B-Reel and FutureDeluxe.
The Northern Photography Festival brings together exhibitions by world-famous and emerging photographers, as well as lectures, walks, master classes, artist meetings, film screenings, autograph sessions and portfolio reviews.
Creative South is a weekend of creative thinking, collaboration and exploration. Participants can attend workshops, lectures on process and experience, meet old friends and make new ones. Their slogan is “Come as a friend, leave as a family.”
Crop is a two-day creative event dedicated to art, design, music and all things creative. Crop hosts keynotes, seminars, trades, parties and lots of fun.
The Leeds Digital Festival is the UK’s largest and most open technology event, celebrating digital culture in all its forms in an open and collaborative way. Whether you’re interested in coding, fintech, social media, artificial intelligence, health tech, data, startups, digital music, cybersecurity, or AR/VR, they can help.
Front is a digital design conference where people share ideas and help each other learn from the experiences of others. You will meet and learn from people who have been creating digital experiences for years. You’ll learn how others solve problems, celebrate success, and create a culture of creativity and innovation.
The annual event and art festival of contemporary character design and art is back. This year will feature over 18 keynote lectures from some of the world’s most influential artists and emerging talent, cutting-edge illustrators, game designers and leading animated films.
